Napoleon on vacation

We will reach the sanctuary of the "Madonna del Monte", the most important mountain sanctuary on the island, we will meet the hermitage that hosted the summer stay of Napoleon exiled where, between the peace of the chestnut wood and the isolation of the mountain, the meeting between the emperor and his Polish mistress. An itinerary on the north-western side of Mount Capanne, to discover the chestnut grove and its importance in the rural economy of the area. Following the path we will be able to observe the particular forms of erosion of the granite that over the millennia have shaped the rocks with unmistakable shapes such as the "boulder of the Eagle", the "Boulder Man", the "Moor's Head". After having filled up with water at the fresh source of the sanctuary's exedra, the route will continue, with the possibility of seeing some specimens of mouflons and birds of prey in flight, towards the panoramic terrace on Corsica of "Serraventosa" and from here on the road to I come back.
